Lymphoedema
Lymphoedema occurs when there is a developmental abnormality or an injury to the lymphatic system and this leads to a build-up of fluid in the tissues.
Injuries could include those made by planned surgery or by radiation therapy.
The goal of therapy is to return the lymphedematous area to a near-normal size & prevent long term loss of function.
Lipoedema
Lipoedema is a complex disorder, appearing to affect connective tissue and adipose (fat) tissue. This condition can be painful & limit function and is often misdiagnosed as obesity.

At Flourish Therapy we are are aware that there is more to the management of Lipoedema than changing exercise & diet.

Scar Therapy & Post Surgery
Scars may be inevitable at a site of injury or surgery, however, the effect the scar has on body tissues and how we perceive them is changeable.
Tightness, pulling, colour, pain, and altered sensation can all be affected by gentle scar tissue massage & Low-Level Laser Therapy. It is never too late with improvements shown on both new & very old scars.
